Step onto the field and into one of the most acclaimed contemporary plays of the 21st century. The Wolves follows a high school girls’ indoor soccer team as they warm up before each game, revealing their dreams, fears, friendships, and struggles with honesty, humor, and heart. Through fast-paced dialogue and authentic ensemble storytelling, students will explore character development, listening, physical acting, and the power of collaborative performance.
This production-based class is designed for dedicated teen actors who are ready to challenge themselves with a complex, emotionally rich script. Students will strengthen their acting technique through ensemble exercises, text analysis, movement, and rehearsal while developing the discipline and professionalism required for a fully staged production. The class culminates in public performances of The Wolves, giving students the opportunity to bring this award-winning play to life for an audience.
Whether you’re looking to deepen your acting skills or experience the excitement of creating meaningful theatre with an ensemble, The Wolves offers an unforgettable artistic journey.
“I wanted to see a portrait of teenage girls as human beings — as complicated, nuanced, very idiosyncratic people who weren’t just girlfriends or sex objects or manic pixie dream girls but who were athletes and daughters and students and scholars and people who were trying actively to figure out who they were in this changing world around them.” — Sarah DeLappe.
“The scary, exhilarating brightness of raw adolescence emanates from every scene … some of the most exciting and affecting ensemble work on a New York stage.” — The New York Times.
